They have arrived....literally!!!!

What a secret to keep,

after a huge win at one of the biggest NHRA events on the tour (Norwalk), the Molinari/Bond Pro Mod team made a 2000 mile trek across the country to race this weekend at Doorwarz V. Sponsorship for the long trip came from major sponsor RAD Torque Systems.

While this unexpected entry (only very few of us knew this was going to happen) puts them as one of the favourites for sure.....

We can't count out the finalists from 2016. In an epic final round both drivers drove the wheels off their cars trying to get the win. Mike Gondziola prevailed and won his second Doorwarz race in a row.

Updated list for 275 below

We'll be marking spots Tuesday night Pro Mod, 10.5, 275, Top Sportsman and Doorslammers will have dedicated areas.

June 25, 2017

Remember Top Sportsman Competitors:

Rules for Doorwarz are Advanced ET rules not NHRA Top Sportsman rules. You do not need a Head/Neck Restraint. And ET requirement is 8.49 or quicker.

Doorslammer and Top Sportsman lists are potential entrants. I am guessing the Doorslammer list is pretty accurate.

An update to the Pro Mod list. Unfortunately Tom Riethmayer will not attend this year's Doorwarz event. His car was in Jerry Bickel's shop in the early spring when the building it was housed in was destroyed by fire. The car is being rebuilt and should be ready by late summer. Sorry to hear this Tom, but luckily the car will be replaced.

Garry Weslosky contacted us and he hopes to be at Doorwarz. He has commitments in Tennessee the next week but it hoping to be back in time. Jeff Hill has stated he hopes his car is ready in time for the race. Dal Sangha's car is being thrashed on to be ready in time, but it is a 50/50 chance. Also chatted with Brian Macy earlier today. His plan is to compete at Doorwarz but he is still recovering from medical issues. If he feels solid, he will bring up that very cool Black Willys.

In 275 Kevin Ness' car is not ready to go yet, he is fully re and reing his chassis. Outlaw 8.5 is in the works but the group needs a handful more cars to make it a class. If anyone wants to run the class contact Laura at 604 826 6315 to pre enter

The Pro Mod listed above is real optimistic. The first 15 are pretty much confirmed. Not on the list is perennial late round finisher Joe Delehay. He was injured playing hockey a few month's ago and will not race this year. Dal Sangha is real close, with his new BAE Hemi TT combo. Steve Horne had major surgery a few months ago, but he is hoping he can get behind the wheel. Glen May
hopefully shows but he is like a hermit. I don't think Dean Bettenson's new Pro Mod is close as well. The bottom five on the list all have top notch cars but these Alberta guys are a bit unpredictable

1. Dean Branham Twin Turbo 69 Cuda
2. Steve Nicholson 63 Corvette 959 Sonnys
3. Ken Sihota 833 Foulton 2000 Firebird
4. Brent Van Vliet 540 BB Chevy TT 68 Camaro

10. Darryl Stone 67 Nova 540 BB chevy TT
11. Wade Bulych Corvette TT
12. Rick Barnard TT Ford BB
13. Ryan Griffin Mustang TT

14. New car ran at the divisional a couple weeks ago from Kelowna, don't kow the guys name.

This list is based on last year's entries.

Brent Van Vliet will not attend. He will drive Jake's Chevy II in 275. It is rumoured one or two more may attend including a TT Dodge Pick-up and one or two new builds from Alberta.
